Hannah is a natural athlete, practicing figure skating and running with track and cross country teams. She has hiked the High Sierras in Yosemite National Park twice, climbing to heights of more than 11,000 feet. She also enjoys theater and has acted in two productions, Wonderland and Aladdin, Jr, with a local company. The president of her local chapter of the National Junior Honor Society, Hannah was proud to be a member of the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers Science Quiz Bowl national champion team. Before spelling bees, she avoids carbohydrates and sugar, and she always dons her lucky cherry necklace and headband. Hannah previously competed in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in both 2012 and 2013.
