Sage spends her spare time reading and writing, both for enjoyment and in preparation for a future in creative writing or journalism. She looks to the late young poet Mattie Stepanek as her role model "because he was an incredible writer and he had a great view of the world." Sage also enjoys ballet and is proud to have performed in the University of Wyoming's mounting of The Nutcracker.
