Deborah spends much of her free time reading and can often be found solving a mystery from the Nancy Drew series. Her community activities include Girl Scouts and church youth functions, and she particularly enjoys watching old television shows and films. Deborah's role model is her brother, Jonathan. He participated in the 2005, 2006, and 2007 national finals, tying for sixth place in 2006 and for eighth place in 2007.
