Derek's best subject in school is science, and he recently competed in the West Tennessee Regional Science Fair. He also enjoys playing video games and reading. Derek's athletic interests include swimming and bowling, but his favorite sport is baseball. His team competed in the state tournament last year, and Derek hopes to involve baseball in his career. Derek's mother, Traci, participated in the 1980 national finals.
