Alex recently finished writing a novel and hopes to have it published. In addition to academic competitions, he competes in football, basketball, and track and field. He has been a member of the North Canton Flyers Amateur Athletic Union track team for two years, advancing to the Junior Olympics both years. Alex qualified for five events in the Junior Olympics last year, earning three medals for javelin and the 200-meter hurdles.
