Rose began playing clarinet at age eight and is a member of her school's band. She takes advanced math and science classes and enjoys participating in Academic Olympics activities. Rose is interested in photography: Her favorite subjects include local landmarks, historic buildings, flowers, her siblings, and her dog. She is active in her church and enjoys going to movies with friends in her spare time. Rose participated in the 2008 national finals.
