Miguel has competed in numerous geography bees and science fairs. He and other members of his school's Mathcounts team recently competed in the state finals. In his free time Miguel enjoys playing golf and video games and creating comics featuring stick figures. Miguel is originally from the Philippines, and Filipino is his first language. He hopes to become a doctor or surgeon. Miguel participated in the 2007 national finals.
