So-Young is a talented writer who won third place in Arizona's Polly Rosenbaum Writing Contest. She is an honor student who tutors other students at her school. She is a member of her school's student council, and her favorite subject in school is math. Reading, listening to music, and spending time with her friends are favorite pastimes. She hopes to become a lawyer. So-Young participated in the 2008 national finals.
